EPOXY54 Installation Guide

Store epoxy between 8° to 21°c before use. Install at room temperature

1. Clean water jacket surface with Red Scotchbrite and brake cleaner.

2. Preheat water jacket surface with heat gun until warm to the touch.

3. Tape off the coolant ports with masking tape.

4. Tape off the deck surface with masking tape and cut the water jacket outline out with a hobby knife.

5. Ensure the block is on a level surface by placing a level on the deck surface.

6. Fill the water jacket with sugar until approx. ¾” below the deck surface. (Confirm its depth with

calipers)

7. Mix all the hardener with all the epoxy in the paint can. Do not attempt to split the batch of epoxy

into smaller quantities. Stir mix for 2 minutes or until epoxy turns completely blue. This moment

onwards, you have about 25 minutes before the epoxy begins to harden.

8. Pour into a squeeze bottle.

9. Use the bottle to evenly pour the epoxy in layers until you reach 1-2mm below the deck surface.

(You have 25 minutes of working time)

10. After 30 minutes of pouring, remove the tape on the deck surface and clean any spillage that may

have occurred.

11. Allow epoxy to cure for 8 hours at room temperature.

12. Place head gasket over the block surface and mark the coolant passages with a sharpie.

13. Drill holes where you marked with a 3/32 – 5/32 drill bit.

14. Flip the block upside down and use a hose to rinse out the main water port. Ensure all the sugar is

dissolved and its only clean water flowing through the water jackets.

15. If you planned on machining the block, you shall do this at this point. Do not run the engine until epoxy had 7 days to cure at room temperature.
