Is a Ferrari F430 Manual Conversion Worth It?

Short answer: yes. Converted F430s sell for far more than F1 cars, and a conversion costs a fraction of the difference. Here’s what the market data says.

The factory manual premium

Ferrari built an estimated 16,750 F430s from 2004 to 2009, with either a 6-speed manual or the 6-speed F1 automated manual. Only a small share were manuals. According to Hagerty’s Price Guide, a factory manual F430 can be worth about twice as much as an equivalent F1 car.

What converted F430s sell for

CLASSIC.COM sales data shows converted F430s averaging about $205,000 across 16 sales of coupes and Spiders (November 2026). For comparison:

  • F1 coupe: about $136,000 average
  • F1 Spider: about $152,000 average
  • Converted to manual: about $205,000 average
  • Factory manual coupe: about $305,000 average

That puts the average converted car $53,000 to $69,000 above the average F1 car. Values depend on condition, mileage and the quality of the conversion, so past sales don’t guarantee what your car will fetch.

What a conversion costs

Our F430 manual conversion kit is $15,490 USD with free shipping and duties included, or $24,990 USD installed in British Columbia. Against a $53,000–$69,000 difference in average sale prices, a self-installed kit has paid for itself several times over.

Other reasons owners convert

The drive

The open gate and the click of the lever through it are a big part of why people buy a Ferrari of this era. Many owners convert simply because they prefer three pedals.

Less reliance on the F1 system

The F1 gearbox uses a hydraulic pump, accumulator and actuators to change gear and work the clutch. After a conversion, your hand and left foot do that. On the F430, the pump is normally kept because it also runs the E-Diff.

Who should convert

  • Convert if you want a manual F430 without paying double for a factory one.
  • Keep your F1 parts if you think you might return the car to original later.
