Is a Lamborghini Gallardo Manual Conversion Worth It?

Lamborghini Gallardo LP gated manual conversion kit

Short answer: yes, if you want a gated Lamborghini V10. Manual Gallardos are worth far more than E-gear cars, and a conversion costs a fraction of the difference. Here are the numbers.

The manual premium

Lamborghini built 14,022 Gallardos from 2003 to 2013, with either a 6-speed gated manual or the 6-speed E-gear automated manual. E-gear cars far outnumber manuals on the used market, and buyers pay for the difference. Hagerty says manual Gallardos typically command about 50% more than E-gear cars across the whole production run.

Real sales back that up. Exotic Comps puts the target price for an early 5.0 V10 manual coupe at about $164,000 and a manual Spyder at about $239,000, based on US sales over the 24 months to October 2026.

What a conversion costs

Our Gallardo manual conversion kit is $18,990 USD for Pre-LP cars (2004–2008) and $19,990 USD for LP cars (2009–2014), with free shipping and duties included. Installed in British Columbia, it’s $28,490 or $29,490 USD. See the full Gallardo cost breakdown for how that compares.

Do converted cars hold their value?

Three pedals widen your pool of buyers: plenty of enthusiasts only shop manual cars. Where there’s enough sales data to measure it, converted cars sell well. On the Ferrari F430, one of the most commonly converted exotics, CLASSIC.COM shows converted cars averaging about $205,000 across 16 sales, against about $136,000 for F1 coupes (November 2026). A conversion done with genuine parts and clear documentation is a strong selling point.

Reasons owners convert

The gated shifter

The open metal gate is one of the defining parts of a Lamborghini of this era. A gated 6-speed with a clutch pedal changes how the car feels at every speed.

E-gear clutch costs

E-gear Gallardos have a reputation for wearing out clutches. Hagerty puts an E-gear clutch replacement at $5,000 to $8,000, with later software helping clutches last up to about 40,000 miles. Drivers who spend a lot of time in traffic feel this most.

The car you want

Because factory manuals are scarce, finding one in the right colour, spec and condition is hard. One Lamborghini Talk member noted how few LP manual cars were made in colours other than black or white. Converting lets you start from the right E-gear car.

Who should convert

  • Convert if you want the manual experience for far less than the price of a factory manual car.
  • Convert during clutch work if your E-gear clutch is due, since much of the labour overlaps.
  • Ask us first if you own a Superleggera, Performante or other special model.
